April 21, 1928, to July 21, 2026

Surrounded by loved ones, Daniel Edwin Zimmerly passed away peacefully on July 21,
2026. Dan lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to God and
his family. He touched countless lives through friendship, service, and love." He found great joy
in spending time with family and traveling. Daniel was a devoted spouse, loving parent,
cherished grandparent, and loyal friend.
Daniel is survived by his son, Steven James Zimmerly; his granddaughter, Kylie Allison
Zimmerly; his grandson, Nathaniel Joel (Sarah) Zimmerly; his great-granddaughter, Isla Sage
Zimmerly; and his daughter-in-law, Patricia Grace (Joel deceased) Zimmerly. He is also survived
by his brothers, David (Barbara deceased) Zimmerly and Jonas James “Jim” (Carol) Zimmerly.
Daniel was preceded in death by devoted spouse, Donna Mae (Sturgis) Zimmerly; his
son, Keith Edwin Zimmerly; his son, Joel Daniel (Patricia) Zimmerly; and his grandson, Calvin
Jacob Zimmerly. Dan was also preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Mary (Bixler)
Zimmerly; his sisters Ida (Denver) Welty; Bessie (Albert) Harder; Lydia McClintock; Lillie
(Ernest) Steffen; Ruth Zimmerly; and his brothers Lester (Lovina) Zimmerly and Silas Ray
(Hilda) Zimmerly.
A celebration of life will be held on August 2, 2026, at 5:00 pm at Wooster Foursquare
Church, 3670 Friendsville Road, Wooster, Ohio. Visitation will take place at 4:00 pm before the
service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wooster Foursquare Church.
Dan retired from First Energy Company in 1992 after 40 years of service. His interests
included flying, camping, NASCAR racing, and wintering in Florida. He enjoyed all these
things, but he enjoyed them even more when his children could join in the adventures.

Though we know that Dan will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of
all who knew and loved him. He never refused the opportunity to help someone if they were in
need. He had a very generous heart and spirit. We know that Dan is now dancing with Jesus and
enjoying the reunion in Heaven with his Donna Mae and his two sons.
Dan will be forever remembered and forever loved.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their love, prayers, and support
during this difficult time.
