Mitchell Alexander “Mitch” Naumoff Sr., 75
Orrville – Mitchell Alexander “Mitch” Naumoff Sr., age 75, of Orrville, formerly of Barberton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster, following a long period of declining health, surrounded by his family.
Born on September 7, 1950, in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, Mitch was the son of Alexander and Mary (Hull) Naumoff. He was raised in Barberton, Ohio, where he graduated from Barberton High School in 1969. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in History from The College of Wooster in 1973 before receiving his Juris Doctor from The University of Akron School of Law in 1976.
Following law school, Mitch joined his parents in the family law practice at Naumoff Law Office, eventually carrying on the practice himself. Never one to shy away from hard work or a new challenge, he also founded Barberton Tax Service, which he owned and operated for more than 40 years before retiring. Through both professions, he faithfully served countless individuals and families, earning the trust and respect of his clients and community.
As his law career came to a close, Mitch restored his farm’s historic barn for the wedding of his youngest son, transforming it into The Barn at the Meadows, a beautiful wedding venue where countless couples celebrated the beginning of their married lives. The project reflected who he was; a man who could see potential where others saw work, and who found joy in creating something meaningful that would endure for generations.
On June 27, 1998, Mitch married Rosemary DeBona in Orrville. Throughout their 28 years of marriage, Rosemary’s unwavering love, devotion, and compassionate care sustained him through life’s greatest challenges. Their marriage was a testament to partnership, commitment, and enduring love.
More than any professional accomplishment, Mitch was proudest of his family. He was a devoted father whose greatest happiness came from watching his children grow into successful adults and build families of their own. His greatest source of pride was never his career or businesses, but the people his children became.
Mitch found his greatest joy in life’s simple pleasures; working on the family farm, tackling nearly any project with his own two hands, annual Christmas trips to the Florida Keys, and making treasured memories with his children during family vacations. He believed that if something needed to be built or repaired, you figured it out yourself, and there was little he couldn’t accomplish with patience, determination, and hard work.
Those who knew Mitch will remember him as hardworking, patient, resourceful, and deeply devoted to his family. His quiet strength, willingness to help, steady presence, and ability to fix just about anything left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his beloved wife, Rosemary, he is survived by six children: Mitchell A. (Kathleen Warin) Naumoff Jr. of Alexandria, Virginia; Ann (Bryan) Morrow of Shreve; Dan (Lindsay) Naumoff of Marshallville; Carrie (Shane) Foy of Orrville; Emily (Brad) Stechschulte of Sylvania; and Ted (Brooke) Naumoff of Orrville. He is also survived by three stepchildren: Margret (Jeff) Friedl of Wadsworth; Steven (Kristan) DeBona of North Port, Florida; and Maria Jones of Norton; 20 cherished grandchildren; ten siblings: Andrew (Cindy) Naumoff of Smithville; Elizabeth (Thomas) Walkley of Norton; Nancy (Michael) Fortney of Medina; Thomas (Gretchen) Naumoff of Richfield; Alexander (Glenda) Naumoff of Orrville; Mary Felty of Richmond, Indiana; Barbara (Richard) Danford of Marietta; Christina (James) Dorinsky of Columbus; Paul (Jennifer) Naumoff of New Albany; and Rebecca (Andrew) Botts of St. Louis, Missouri; his half-brother, Dale Naumoff of Orrville; his former wife, Barbara (Richard) Caillet of Orrville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Mary Naumoff; an infant brother; and his brother-in-law, Dennis Felty.
Friends may call on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, whose kindness and dedication brought comfort during Mitch’s final days, and especially to Rosemary, whose steadfast love and selfless care allowed him to remain surrounded by the people and the place he loved most.
