Bixler, Anna Mae (Lehman)

ORRVILLE — Anna Mae (Lehman) Bixler was greeted in her heavenly home on April 18, 2020 by the love of her life, Robert S, Bixler, who had preceded her nearly thirteen years earlier. They were married on October 16, 1948, and enjoyed 58 years together.
From this union came five children, Robert A. (Lois), Gerald L. (Bonita), Jennifer L. (Rev. Dr. Edd Cathey), Judith A. (Carl Yoder) and Joy L. (Kevin Whear). She is survived by all five children and their spouses, twenty seven grandchildren and thirty three great-grandchildren with one expected.
Anna Mae was born on September 3, 1929 to Melvin and Frances (Burkholder) Lehman. They preceded her in death as did a sister, Agnes Berg, and a brother, John. She is survived by a brother, Richard Lehman.
Anna was employed outside the home at times but was first and foremost a homemaker. Anna and Robert owned L-B Stone along with her parents. She enjoyed many hobbies, of which were painting, flower arranging, card stamping and gardening. She and Robert traveled internationally in retirement. They also went on many railroad trips together and trips to visit family members scattered about.
Anna had a strong Christian faith and read her Bible daily. She also enjoyed listening to hymns and attending worship services. She often remarked to her family that she was ready to go to her heavenly home.
Due to suggested restrictions on gatherings, a private graveside service will be held.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Auble Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online registry and expressions of condolence may be made at www.aublefuneralhome.com.
