Woods, Imogene “Emma”

Imogene “Emma” Woods, age 69, of Orrville, formerly of Cleveland, died Saturday, May 23, 2020, at her residence in Orrville, following a period of declining health.
Emma was born in Deepwater, WV, to the late Ella L Woods, who preceded her in death on June 29, 1992 and father William Radford, passing on May 5,2020
She worked various jobs throughout her life, such as being a machine operator at Republic Steel, kitchen manager at Jerry’s in Orrville, head cook at Brenn-Field Nursing Home in Orrville, and ran her own business cleaning houses.
Imogene enjoyed cooking, singing and dancing, and was blessed with her time as a member of the band “A Family Affair”, where she sang alongside her siblings and cousins.  She enjoyed people, welcomed them to her home, and was always open to give people a place to stay if they needed.  She was a good friend to many, a passionate story teller, and was very social, but at the same time a private person.  She watched MSNBC religiously, mainly to catch a glimpse of her “husband” Barack Obama, and no one dare think about changing the channel.  She will be fondly remembered as a fashionista, and for always having a can of Pepsi nearby.
Emma leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Beverly Woods and Shaunda (Benjamin) McCollum, both of Orrville; five sisters Beulah Mosley of Orrville, June Robinson and Carol Woods, both of Charleston, WV, Carlene Tuggle-Hood (Donnie) of Cleveland, and Cloteal Elie of Montgomery, WV; a brother Richard Woods of Cleveland; eight grandchildren, La’Ronda, La’Raya, La’Ricco, La’Reecs, La’Rizon, La’Renzo, Anazia and Allure; seven great-grands; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva (James) Goard; and a brother, Gregory Woods.
Graveside services will be held a 12:00, noon, on Friday, May 29, 2020, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville with Pastor Gary DeHart officiating.
