Shred bag days return to Dalton library
DALTON Dalton Friends of the Library have resumed sale of secure shred bags in cooperation with Reed Records Management of Wooster.
Available during regular Dalton Library branch hours, the bags cost $8 each and can hold about two bankers’ boxes full of paper, according to a news release from Dalton Friends of the Library.
The bags can be filled with no-longer-needed confidential documents such as applications, invoices and bank statements. When a bag is full the user seals it with an adhesive strip.
Periodically, Reed staff bring their shred truck to the Dalton Library to accept filled, sealed bags. The Reed truck will be at the Dalton Library from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, and on Saturday, April 17, from 10 a.m. until noon.
Friends of the Library President says a great way to celebrate the end of tax season is to watch your old records being fed into the truck shredder on those dates.
Shred bags can be purchased with cash or a major credit card during the Dalton Library’s regular hours: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday; noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
For those who can’t come to shred truck visits, filled, sealed bags purchased from Dalton Friends can be dropped off for shredding from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at Reed’s office at 2730 Akron Road, Wooster, or taken to Murr’s Printing at 201 N. Buckeye St., Wooster from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays.
Profits from shred bag sales are used by the Friends group to pay for library programming and supplies that fall outside the library’s operating budget. The Dalton Library is a branch of the Wayne County Public Library system.
Further information about the shred bags is available at the Dalton Library branch, 127 S. Church St., Dalton, or by calling the library at 330-828-8486.
