Strader, David J.

Smithville — David J. Strader, age 66, of Smithville, died Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Smithville Western Care Center in Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Dave was born on June 23, 1955, in Madisonville, KY, to Don and Wilma (Higgs) Strader, graduated from Wooster High School (Wayne County Career Center) in 1973, and married Honore’ Marie Medve on September 28, 1991, in Wooster.
Dave had a true entrepreneurial spirit, starting and selling several businesses in the Wayne County area.  He was perhaps known best as the owner and operator of Dino’s Drive Thru, Dino’s Home Entertainment, and D & H Trucking, all in Wooster, for many years, retiring in 2009.
Dave enjoyed racing Go-Karts, playing Texas Hold’em, NASCAR and Indy car races.   He loved his family and friends and seemed to always be able to find employment for them in his many business ventures.
Surviving are his wife, Honore’; mother, Wilma Williamson of Wooster; step-children, Stacey Sines and Joe (Summer) Sines , both of Orrville; grandchildren, Madisyn, Anthony, Dominic and Penelope; three sisters, Teresa Geitgey of Wooster, Robin (Scott) Sampson of Angier, NC, and Connie (Joe) Carafelli of Canton; brother, Lee Williamson of Cincinnati; mother-in-law, Louise Medve of Orrville; sister-in-law, Desiree (Ron) Infante of Niles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don Strader; and a nephew Brandon Geitgey.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, with Pastor Don E. Bolich officiating and will be live streamed at https://www.facebook.com/aublefuneralhome.
