NORTH LAWRENCE — TOGETHER AGAIN — Hazel E. Jackson , age 85, of North Lawrence, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, in Orrville, following a period of declining health.
Hazel was born on November 9, 1936, in Louisville, OH, to Marvin and Anna (Horst) Ott and graduated from Marlboro High School in 1954. She married Larry L. Jackson on April 26, 1958, at the Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church. Larry died on January 17, 2022.
She was a homemaker, formerly contributed to the Courier Crescent, and worked a short time for Regal Ware in Wooster.
Hazel was a member of Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church, where she will be remembered for helping in the nursery. She enjoyed hummingbirds, attending gospel sings with her husband, and caring for children. Most of all, she loved her family, especially caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are four children, Dean L. (Tammy) Jackson of Navarre, Vernon W. Jackson of North Lawrence, Wanda (Richard) Powers of Orrville, and Marvin (Jennifer) Jackson of Minerva; daughter-in-law, Laura Jackson of Orrville; thirteen grandchildren, Josh, Amber, Megan, Cortney, Tiffany, Janet, Jonathon, Jessica, Carrie, Andrew, Michaela, Alaina, Rebecca; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Barb) Ott of Louisville; and sister, Wilma Noble of GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, who passed away just six days earlier; her parents; son, Larry A. “Junior” Jackson; sister, Helen Bennett; and brother, Robert Ott.
Services for both Larry and Hazel will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022, at 11:00 am at Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church, 14411 Orrville Street NW, North Lawrence, with Rev. Thomas Fish officiating. Burial for both will take place at the Newmans Creek Cemetery in North Lawrence.
Friends may call on Monday, prior to the service at the church from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.
