DALTON No injuries were reported in a single-vehicle accident around 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31. A dump truck driver told Dalton police that his brakes failed as he was coming off of U.S. 30 traveling west and made a turn north on state Route 94.
Brake trouble caused the load to shift and the truck tipped over spilling its load of gravel, the driver told police.
Dalton Police Department, East Wayne Fire District and Wayne County Engineer crews responded to the scene.
While EWFD and Kidron Volunteer Fire Department prepared for Dalton Elementary School fire prevention education program, EWFD received the call for the vehicle roll over, EWFD shared on the agency’s Facebook page. Members from both departments responded, the post states, and worked the scene until it was safe. EWFD extended thanks to Dalton PD, Dalton Street Department, Sugar Creek Township Road Department, Ohio Department of Transportation and Luthi’s Towing for assistance.
