Lyle G. Lewis, 83

ORRVILLE — Lyle G. Lewis, age 83, of Orrville, died Monday, January 2, 2023, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, following a long period of declining health.

Lyle was born on December 15, 1939, in Red Dragon, West Virginia, to the late William E. and Rosa “Marie” (Blaylock) Lewis, and served in the United States Navy.  He married Dorcas K. Shammo on May 8, 1964, in Orrville.

He did factory work in Las Vegas for five years, Orrville Products for 18 years, and most recently worked as a mechanic for Severe Automotive Repair for 25 years.

Lyle was a member of Orrville VFW. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as bowling in his younger years.

Surviving are his wife, Dorcas, three children, William Lewis of Orrville, Kandy Wildey of Hayward, CA, and Michael (Denise) Lewis of Orrville; grandsons, Bryan and Nicholas; great grandsons, Matthew and Jacoby; two sisters, Dixie N. Brewer and Doris Wiseman, both of Orrville; and a brother, Charles (Sandi) Lewis of Apple Creek.

He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Lewis; and a brother, William Paul Lewis.

Private family burial will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
