Joseph M. Miller, 76
Joseph M. Miller, 76, of 5705 Criswell Road, Apple Creek, died on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Aultman Hospital of a heart attack.
He was born in Wayne County on September 20, 1946 to the late Monroe JC and Ella (Yoder) Miller and on May 18, 1967 he married Mary M. Yoder. She survives.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church where he was ordained a deacon on October 2, 1977.
He was a retired farmer and self-employed.
In addition to his wife he is survived by children, Duane (Miriam) Miller of Apple Creek, Susan (Atlee) Weaver of Wooster, Ruth (Edward) Troyer of Millersburg, Monroe (Carol) Miller of Apple Creek, Norman (Sarah) Miller of the home, Bertha (Mark) Yoder of Cazenovia, NY, Linda (David) Troyer of Apple Creek, and Martha (Johnny) Hershberger of Beach City; 47 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Aden M. Miller of Apple Creek, Mattie Troyer of Apple Creek, Susie (Atlee) Yoder of Apple Creek, Bertha (Eli) Raber of Fredericksburg, and Linda (Reuben) Troyer of Millersburg; sister-in-law, Betty Miller of Kidron; brother-in-law, Melvin Detweiler of Fredericksburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Melvin; brothers, Abe and Paul Miller; a sister, Ada Detweiler; brothers-in-law, Leroy Keim and Dan Troyer; sister-in-law, Lizzie Miller.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 9:00 am at the family residence with Minister Aden Yoder officiating. Burial will follow in Yoder Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 2:30 pm on Monday and anytime on Tuesday. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
