Raymond A. Morrison, 96

WOOSTER — Raymond A. Morrison, age 96, of Wooster, formerly of Orrville, died Monday, April 10, 2023, at his home, following a period of declining health.
Ray was born on February 28, 1927, in Wadsworth, to Chester and Hazel (Caskey) Morrison, graduated from Lakeland (FL) High School in 1945, and served as a Seaman 2nd Class in the United States Navy during World War II.  He married Winona I. Griner on June 7, 1947, in Wadsworth and she survives him.
He was a self-employed home builder and plasterer before working as a salesperson and driver for Smith Dairy in Orrville for 24 years, retiring in 1989.  In his retirement he repaired books for the Orrville Public Library, taught English as a Second Language, and drove wheelchair van for Auble EMS.
Ray was a member of Smithville Brethren Church.  He enjoyed reading, motorcycling, sailing, rug weaving, painting, walking, biking and travel.
In addition to his wife, Winona, he is survived by two daughters, Gail L. (John) Duncan and Patricia A. (Robert) Davis, both of Copley; son, Ted A. (Sueko) Morrison of Columbus; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brian D. Morrison; and a sister, Barbara  Farnsworth.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, with Pastor Robert K. Davis III officiating.  Military rites will be observed and the family will greet friends following the service.  Burial of cremated remains will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth.
