Glen D. Bachman, 87

Dalton — Glen D. Bachman , age 87, of Dalton, died Monday, August 21, 2023, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Glen was born on May 10, 1936, in Orrville, Ohio, to the late George and Edna (Hershberger) Bachman and graduated from Orrville High School.  He married Shirley Calderhead on July 23, 1954, in Marshallville, OH. Shirley died on September 15, 1998.
He worked in maintenance for J.M. Smucker for 18 years, retiring in 1997.
Glen enjoyed watching old western movies, and loved to mow his big yard.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah (Larry) Baker of Shreve, and Vicki (Kevin) Coyle of New Franklin; three sons, Richard (Arlene) Bachman of Snellville, GA, Russell Bachman of Dalton, and Neil (Joy) Bachman of Wooster; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Rene’ (Willy) Mack of Orrville; two sisters, Elaine Carey of Longview, WA, and Charlene Dalessandro of Lampac, CA.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Shirley, he was proceeded in death by second wife, Rowena L. Bachman, and son, Ronald Bachman.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 4 pm to 7 pm.
Services will be held at Auble Funeral Home on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 10:00 am with Pastor Jim Gindlesberger officiating. Cremation will take place following the service and burial of ashes will take place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
