Mattie M. Troyer, 86

Mattie M. Troyer, 86, of 10839 Lautenschlager Road, Apple Creek, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at her home following a brief illness.
She was born in Holmes County on March 17, 1937 to the late Monroe J.C. and Ella (Yoder) Miller and on February 7, 1957 she married Dan A. Troyer. He died on October 10, 2019.
She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She is survived by children, Ella (Willie) Hershberger of Apple Creek, Ammon (Mary) Troyer of Newcomerstown, Joe (Sarah) Troyer of Fredericksburg, Susie (Ivan) Troyer of Fredericksburg, Paul (Esther) Troyer of Apple Creek, Becky (Jr.) Yoder of Newcomerstown, Anna (Marvin) Miller of Apple Creek, Effie (Jason) Short of Apple Creek, Fannie (Melvin) Wengerd of Apple Creek, Mary (Joe) Miller of Apple Creek, Rachel (Leroy) Kline of Dundee, Monroe (Erma) Troyer of Apple Creek, Bertha (Nelson) Troyer of the home, Ruth (Robert) Miller of Florida, and Miriam (Wayne) Keim of Fredericksburg; 96 grandchildren; 146 great-grandchildren; a brother, Aden (late Lizzie) Miller; 3 sisters, Susie (Atlee) Yoder, Bertha (Eli) Raber, and Linda (Reuben) Troyer; sisters-in-law, Susan (late Abe) Miller, Mary (late Joe) Miller, Betty (late Paul) Miller, and Melvin (late Ada) Detweiler.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, a sister, a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law, 2 grandsons, and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 31 at 8:30 am at the family residence with Bishop Dan W. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Troyer Cemetery in East Union Township. Friends may call anytime after 11:00 am on Monday and anytime on Tuesday at the family residence. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
