Gavyn Wade Keyes, 19

Gavyn Wade Keyes, age 19, of Wooster, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 1, 2024 in Wooster.

He was born on July 13, 2004, in Wooster to Tommy Mundee Keyes and Shannon Michelle Weedman and has been a Wooster resident for all of his life.

He graduated from Wooster High School with the Class of 2022.

To know Gavyn was to know genuine acceptance and love. He always looked out for the people he loved, and also for people he didn’t even know. He was the first person to be there if anyone needed a listening ear. He felt everything in this world very deeply.

Gavyn was always smiling, making everyone laugh, plotting adventures, jumping out to scare his mom every chance he got, filling his dad’s ear with stories of his adventures with friends, entertaining and teaching his siblings, and spreading his light to everyone in his life. He was known for being a pretty good prankster by his family and friends.

He loved music and lived every day either playing guitar or with music playing in his ears. Gavyn loved nature and all things outdoors; camping, hiking, shooting ranges, fishing, and a good bonfire with friends or family. He also loved playing video games with his siblings and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Adalee, Silas, Buck and Evette; maternal grandparents, Rick Weedman & Avery Goins; paternal grandparents, Sherry Holderman and Tommy G. Keyes; great-grandparents, Jeff & Sandy Luke and Ruby Hoeflich; many cousins and aunts & uncles that he was extremely close with; his very best & dearest friend Noah Cloar, and a large group of very close friends who all meant the world to Gavyn.

If Gavyn could give a message to the world, we think it would be, “Screw what other people think. Just be a good person”.

A private Celebration of Life will take place on Gavyns birthday; Saturday, July 13th beginning at 3:00pm at Mohican Reservation on Wally Rd. in Loudonville.

Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is assisting the family.
