Herbert “Herb” Geiser, 86
Herbert “Herb” Geiser, 86 yrs. 7 mos. 29 days, passed away peacefully on Mon. April 21,2025 at his home in Apple Creek, OH.
He was born on Aug. 23, 1938 to the late Noah Geiser and the late Martha (Nussbaum) Geiser.
He was baptized in his youth and was a member of Sonlight Chapel at the time of his death.
He was united in marriage to Luella (Steiner) Geiser on Nov. 6, 1959, who preceded him in death by 11 days.
He will be greatly missed by 2 sons, Larry (Suetta) of Kirksville, MO, and Merle (Joyce) of Apple Creek, OH; 3 daughters, Karen (the late William) VanPelt, Coumbiana, OH, Delores (Glenn) Hershberger of Leetonia, OH and Jolene (Mark) Hershberger of Apple Creek, OH and daughter-in-law Julia (the late James). He will be lovingly remembered by 41 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren.
He is survived by 2 sisters, Eunice (the late David) Steiner, and Florence (Ronald) Smith; and 2 brothers, Gerald (the late Velma) and Arlin “Chip” (Becky) Geiser and a 1 half-brother, Terry (Shawn) Geiser.
He was preceded in death by a son, James; a son-in-law, William; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Gloria and Doris; and a half-brother, Michael.
Friends and acquaintances are welcome to the visitation Friday, April 25, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 and funeral on Saturday, April 26 at 10 a.m. which will be held at the East Union Mennonite Church 10678 Old Lincoln Way, Orrville, OH 44667. Burial will be at Sonlight Chapel Cemetery.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare of Wooster for their kind services. Also, a heartfelt thanks for the deeds of kindness shown, and loving thoughts and prayers from many friends and acquaintances.
