Gerald Ray “Speedy” Wiles, 88

ORRVILLE — Gerald Ray “Speedy” Wiles, age 88, of Orrville, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at The Avenue at Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Born on February 24, 1937, in Rittman, Speedy was the son of the late Lester and Leona (Hamilton) Wiles. He attended Rittman High School and later became a well-known figure in the Orrville community as the longtime owner and operator of The Pawn Shop, which he ran for many years until his retirement in 1999.
Speedy had a passion for his family kids and grand s along withcollecting coins and antique cars, and he loved attending swap meets. He also enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, and pool—but above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his four children: Linda Kay (Nader) Hafezizadeh of Anaheim, CA, Tonie (Doug) Hoffman of Orrville, Allen (Rita) Wiles of Marshallville, and Ron (Kim) Wiles of Orrville. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren: Nadia (Brad) Burton, Sheena (Nick) Alexandris, Sean Hafezizadeh, Nick (Audrey) Hoffman, Cory (Kendyl) Hoffman, Nathan (Alisha) Wiles, Matthew Wiles, Joshua Wiles, Jeremiah Wiles, and Cameron Wiles ; Ashley as well as 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his beloved sister in law Connie Frotten,  who has been such a loving and kind care giver the past 8 years.
In addition to his parents, Speedy was preceded in death by five siblings: Pearl E. Schumacher, Fran Porter, Trudy Curie, Herb Wiles, and an infant brother.
A Celebration of Life will be held at on Sunday October 19, 2025, from 4-7 at the Blackberry Condominium Clubhouse on North Crown Hill Road in Orrville.
