Philip D. Nussbaum, 63

Philip D. Nussbaum, 63, of Apple Creek, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 27, 2026 at his home.

He was born in Orrville on September 10, 1962 to the late Allen and Verda (Geiser) Nussbaum.  He graduated from Waynedale High School in 1980 and lived all his life in Apple Creek.  He worked on the family farm until 1994 and worked in construction for the past 30 years.

Phil will be remembered for his contagious laugh, hard work ethic and devotion to family and neighbors.  He was a very proud father who loved playing golf and games with his kids.

He is survived by his children, Ashlee (Kyle) Tatum and Jason (Julie) Nussbaum; a sister, Loretta Miller; and a brother, Leonard (Janet) Nussbaum, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Eileen Street, Kathryn Walker and Ruby Schwarting; and a brother Duane.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 6-8:00 pm at the Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton.  Family graveside services will be held in the Sonnenberg Mennonite Church Cemetery.
