Donald Ray Dreher, 82

ORRVILLE – Donald Ray Dreher, 82, of Orrville, formerly of Dalton, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Apostolic Christian Village in Rittman, following a long period of declining health.
Don was born August 30, 1943, in Wooster to Clarence “Bun” and Mildred “Mid” (Arnold) Dreher. He was a 1961 graduate of Orrville High School. On June 27, 1965, he married the love of his life, Vicki Wolgamot, in Orrville.
Don dedicated his career to construction, working as a job site superintendent for C.A. King & Sons and Bogner Construction for many years before retiring in 2006.
He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Orrville, BAC Local #40, and Masonic Cedar Lodge #430. Don had a passion for staying active and enjoyed traveling, biking, skiing, golfing, and all types of sports-especially baseball and basketball.
A devoted community member, Don was honored as Orrville’s Citizen of the Year in 2011 and received the Distinguished Service Award from the Orrville High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2017. He took great pride in giving back, often volunteering alongside his friend, Dean Reusser. His many contributions included work with The Salvation Army, the YMCA, the Boys & Girls Club, CAMO, the Orrville High School Multi-Purpose Building and Hall of Champions, local baseball dugouts and Little League scoreboards, and the renovation of the city’s entrance billboards.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Vicki; two daughters, Dawn (Bob) Crawford of Wadsworth and Shelley (Dave) Ramsdell of Orrville; four grandchildren, Jami (Steven) Gilbert, Jacqueline Toth, Tori (JT) Perez, and Zach (Marisa) Ramsdell; and three great-grandchildren, Gage, Graham, and Lucy Gilbert.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Captain Richard Dreher.
Friends may call Friday, April 24, 2026, from 4:00 to 5:45 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home, 512 E. Oak Street, Orrville. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Celebrant Kevin O’Brien officiating. Burial of cremated remains will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville at a later date.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to LifeCare Hospice, Tori Perez, Beth Gift and Linda Kraft for their compassionate care and support, which allowed Don to remain at home as long as possible.
