Craig Smith Schopfer, 75

Craig Smith Schopfer, 75, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 26, 2026.  Born in Massillon, Ohio, and raised in Dalton, Ohio, Craig built a life defined by love, laughter, and generosity.  He loved the people in his life more than anything and made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He never met a stranger and enjoyed sharing stories and jokes with anyone and everyone, always leaving others happier and with a smile on their faces.  He also thoroughly enjoyed adventures with Craig Patton, evenings on the back porch with Mark Leach, and breakfast with his buddies on Saturday mornings.

Craig graduated from Dalton High School and went on to earn his degree from the University of Akron.  He built a distinguished career in Information Technology, holding leadership roles at Cressona Aluminum and Patton Picture Company.  More important than his professional accomplishments were the lifelong friendships he formed with his colleagues.

Craig is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary Schopfer; his children Brian Schopfer (Jen), Katie Ramirez (Roberto), and Matthew Schopfer; and his grandchildren Roberto, Veronica, Davis, and Claire.  He is also survived by his siblings Gary Schopfer (Cindy) and Shauna Treisch (Tom), his sisters-in-law Judy Thomas, Carol Yulich, and Patricia Hickey (Chet), as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Annetta Schopfer, his brothers-in-law John Thomas and John Yulich, his sister-in-law Jean Schopfer, and his nephews Ryan Treisch and Joe Ringhoffer.

He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Harrisburg PA.
