Marshall Brooks Tallman, 85

ORRVILLE – Marshall Brooks Tallman, 85, of Orrville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Aultman Orrville Hospital, following a sudden illness.
Marshall was born on October 17, 1940, in Left Hand, West Virginia, to the late Cecil and Cora Faye (Dye) Tallman. He attended Gravehill School and went on to build a life centered around hard work, family, faith, and community. On February 29, 1968, he married the love of his life, Mildred “Millie” Hixenbaugh in Left Hand, West Virginia. Together they shared more than 58 years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and treasured memories. Millie survives.
Marshall dedicated 42 years of service as a truck driver for Louisiana Pacific in Orrville before retiring in 1998. Known for his strong work ethic and friendly spirit, he made lasting friendships throughout his career.
A faithful member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Marshall found great joy in serving his community and supporting the teams he loved. He was an enthusiastic fan of all Cleveland sports teams and The Ohio State Buckeyes, but his greatest pride was supporting Orrville athletics. Whether working in the concession stands or firing the cannon at games, Marshall was a familiar and beloved presence at local sporting events.
Marshall also had a deep love for music and singing, and he especially cherished traveling with Millie and spending time with his family. His greatest joy came from being surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense happiness to his life.
In addition to his wife, Millie, he is survived by his daughter, Marsha (Jeffrey Dempsey) Tallman-Shonk of Beckley, West Virginia; two sons, Marc (Caroline) Tallman of Wakeman and Marty (Jena) Tallman of Green; eight grandchildren, Rickford Shonk, Nicholas Shonk, Trevor (Tori) Tallman, Wilson Tallman, Brittany Keating, Emalee (Zach Garrett) Robison, Madalynn Robison, and Anthony Zunt; ten great-grandchildren, Vera Shonk, Nola Shonk, Iris Tallman, Elliana Garrett, Brinlee Garrett, Declan Keating, Maverick Zunt, Joey Keating, Phoenix Zunt, and Colin Keating; and four siblings, Delmis (Sandy) Tallman, Roy (Joyce) Milton Tallman, Marsha (Marlin) Morris, and Mike Tallman, all of West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Juanita Cook, Evelyn “Eve” Jarvis, Kathleen Harold, Glendol Tallman, and Nancy Romine.
Friends may call on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Simonsen officiating.
