Linda L. (Hofacre) McNamara, 74

Linda L. (Hofacre) McNamara, 74, of West Lebanon, passed away on Sunday evening, June 28, 2026, at Brewster Parke. Her stay there was brief. She spent most of her illness at home, surrounded by the comfort of familiar surroundings and under the compassionate care of Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare (Wooster).
Linda was born on April 17, 1952, in Massillon, Ohio, to the late John (Raymond) Hofacre II and Gloria (McFarren) Hofacre. On December 31, 1977, she married John McNamara. Together they spent 30 years in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, near Nashville, before returning to her childhood home near West Lebanon.
A 1970 graduate of Waynedale High School, Linda continued her education later in life and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee.
A woman of deep faith, Linda faced her cancer diagnosis with remarkable courage and grace, choosing a path without formal treatment. Throughout her final year, she served as an inspiration to family and friends through her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. She found joy in cooking, gardening, caring for her beloved cats, Kitsy and Squeak, and spending time with her family.
Linda was a member of Stanwood Community Church and also cherished the friendships she formed through the West Lebanon Community Church.
She is survived by her brothers, John (Kathy) Hofacre of Navarre and Steve (Jolene) Hofacre of Dalton; her sister, Lucy (Ed) Stoner of Perrysville; and her stepchildren, Cathy (Jim) Bumbledare of Naples, Florida, Mark (Bonnie) McNamara of Lima, Ohio, Lynn McNamara (Dwight) of Naples, Florida, and Colleen Smith (Bob) of Galloway, Ohio. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the team at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare for their exceptional care and support, which allowed Linda to remain in her home until the final ten days of her life. Special thanks are also extended to Brewster Parke for their kindness, compassion, and willingness to go above and beyond to accommodate us on short notice.
In accordance with Linda’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or public service. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
Those wishing to honor Linda’s memory may make memorial contributions to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, OH 44691 or the Mt. Eaton/Paint Township Fire Department, Box 176, Mt. Eaton, OH 44659.
