Obit – Geiser, Harvey Jr.

Harvey Geiser, Jr., 57, of Orrville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 6, 2020 at his home.

 

He was born in Massillon on June 1, 1962 to the late Harvey and Esther (Steiner) Geiser and had lived all of his life in this area.

 

He was a member of Fairlawn Mennonite Church where he had taught Sunday School.  He worked for Steiner Turf Equipment for 35 years.  He was a volunteer football/strength coach at Waynedale High School for many years and was instrumental in the formation of the House of Iron in Wooster.

 

He is survived by brothers and sisters, Vernon Geiser of Wooster, Vincent and Janet Geiser of Wooster, Gladys and Lloyd Nissley of Nappanee IN, Marcella and Ed Loker of Dalton, Ruth and Galen Hershberger of Fredericksburg, Joyce and Wayne Miller of Orrville, Ida and Tom Yoder of Donnellson, IA, Ron and Janice Geiser of Dalton, Pauline and Gary Arnold of Elkhart, IN, Freeman and Jennie Geiser of Apple Creek, Russell Geiser and Ellis Geiser, both of Orrville and Delvin and Cindy Geiser of Orrville; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Annette and Morgan Schaffter.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Bonnie Geiser and Freda Geiser.
Memorial services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Fairlawn Mennonite Church, 8520 Emerson Road, Apple Creek, with Pastor Duane Detweiler officiating.  Family graveside services will be held prior in the church cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday from 1-3 and 6-8:00 pm at the church.  Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
