Miller, Alfred D.

Alfred D. Miller, 91, of 8946 Mt. Hope Road, Apple Creek, died Thursday, April 30, 2020 at his son Leroy’s home following a brief illness.

He was born in Lagrange, IN on February 28, 1929 to the late David and Saloma (Mast) Miller and married Katie A. Yoder on December 23, 1952.  She died June 18, 1969.  He then married Dora J. Coblentz on December 10, 1970 and she survives.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Leroy (Mattie) Miller of Apple Creek, Mary (Ben) Troyer of Gallipolis and Marvin (Mary) Miller of Orrville; a daughter-in-law, Erma Miller of Fredericksburg; a step-daughter, Esther (Paul) Miller of Dalton; 26 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 131 great grandchildren; 40 step-great grandchildren; a brother, Jonas Miller of Millersburg; sisters, Anna Swartzentruber, Ella Troyer, Esther (Melvin) Hershberger and Lydian (Raymond) Yoder, all of Frederickburg and Effie Miller of Apple Creek; sisters-in-law, Erma, Edna, Lydia Ann and Barbara Wengerd.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Harry; brothers, Elmer, Levi, Mike and Leroy; sisters, Mary Wengerd and Susie Miller.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at 9:30 am at the family residence with Bishop Raymond Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hershberger Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Wayne County.  Friends may call anytime at the family home.  Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
