Bowman, Betty

Orrville — Betty Bowman, age 93, of Orrville, died Sunday, February 21, 2021, at her home in Orrville, following a period of declining health.
Betty was born on January 6, 1928, in Canton, Ohio.  Her parents were the late Norman and Effie (Graham) Bintrim.  She graduated from New Castle (PA) High School and married Harley on December 1, 1945, in New Castle, PA. They moved to Pittsburgh, PA where Harley worked for an organ company and two years later they moved to Orrville where Harley worked for Schantz Organ.  Harley died on October 13, 2001.
Betty was a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church in Orrville. She was previously a Cub Scout Den Mother, member of the North School P.T.A., and an officer in the Mother’s Athletic Club at Orrville High School.  She was a founding member and officer of the Women Reaching Out organization in Orrville for several years.  Harley and Betty also belonged to the Knat Boxers Square Dance Club for many years.  Betty loved God, her family, and her church family. Through the years she held many different positions at Augsburg Lutheran Church in Orrville. She worked  selling World Book Encyclopedias, then for McCombs Grocery Store, and lastly for the City of Orrville in the cashiers office for fifteen years.
Surviving are four children, Ron (Joanna) Bowman, Cary (Anita) Bowman, Kriss (Nancy) Bowman, and Wendy Bowman, all of Orrville; nine grandchildren, Tracey (Anthony), Jason, Brandon (Kelly), Lacey, Michael (Janiel), Brandi, Corey (Melissa), Joshua (Justine), and Aubrie (Shane); four step-grandchildren, Andrew (Candace), Lambros (Tiffany), Rachel, and Nicholas; 20 great grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Clausen; and a brother, Norman Bintrim.
Graveside services will be private, but available to view by live stream at 10 am on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at  Facebook.com/AubleFuneralHome.
