Chine, Barbara L.

Orrville — Barbara L. Chine, age 86, of Orrville, died Thursday, February 24, 2022, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
Barbara was born on August 18, 1935, in Sandyville, Ohio, to the late Lawrence and Margaret (Hall) Polen and graduated from Orrville High School in 1953.  She married Paul J. on October 16, 1954, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Orrville. Paul died on May 14, 2005.
She worked as an executive secretary at Crown Steel in the 50’s, then in the 60’s the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona where in the 70’s, she worked in the office of Revlon and then in sales for Goldwater Department Store. then in 1988, the family returned to Orrville.
Barbara was a member of Orrville Christian Church where she was a member of the Senior Ladies Bible Study and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed music and singing in many local churches and nursing homes. She was a member of the Orrville Music Club, Spectacular Music Productions, and the Community Christian Choir in Canton. She enjoyed painting, sewing and quilting. She was a loving mother, wife, and a dedicated Christian.
Surviving are two sons, Edward P. Chine of Woodbridge, VA, and Thomas L. Chine of Orrville; brother, Lawrence C. (Kathy) Polen Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Linda Hamilton of Canton; nephew, David (Cheryl) Homer of Canton; good friend, Connie Blandford of Orrville; and best friend, Melissa (Ken) Lehman of Orrville.
In addition to her husband Paul, she was proceeded in death by, sister, Wanda Lee.
Friends may call on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Orrville Christian Church, 925 North Elm Street, Orrville, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.  Masks are requested by the family, but not required.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, at Orrville Christian Church, with Pastor Tom Ledford officiating. Burial will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville at 2:30 pm.
